Terms and Conditions

Last updated: February 3, 2026

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of OpenScout and related services. By using the product, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use OpenScout. If you are using OpenScout on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Account and Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the service, interfere with normal operation, attempt to access data that is not yours, or use OpenScout in a way that violates applicable laws or third-party rights.

Subscriptions and Billing

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis. Trial access may convert to paid access if you choose a plan. Prices and plan limits are described on the billing page and may change with notice. Taxes may apply depending on your location.

Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your subscription at any time from the Billing page in your dashboard. Upon cancellation, your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period. After that, your account will revert to an expired state and you will no longer have access to paid features. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing period.

If you are on a free trial and do not wish to continue, simply do not choose a plan. Your trial will expire automatically and no charges will be made.

Refund Policy

All fees are non-refundable unless required by applicable law. If you believe you were charged in error or experience a technical issue that prevented you from using the service, contact us at support@openscout.so within 7 days of the charge. We will review your request and may issue a refund at our discretion.

Refunds, if approved, will be processed to the original payment method within 5-10 business days.

Intellectual Property

OpenScout and its content, software, and design are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the service without written permission.

User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit, including brand descriptions and keywords. You grant us a limited license to process that content in order to provide the service.

Third-Party Services

OpenScout relies on third-party services such as Reddit, Twitter, LinkedIn, and payment providers. Your use of those services is governed by their terms. We are not responsible for their availability or policies.

Disclaimers

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that results will be accurate or complete.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, OpenScout will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the service in a harmful or unlawful manner. You may stop using the service at any time.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which OpenScout operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice. Continued use of the service after updates constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
